RIC technical reports

Prior to the formation of RailCorp in 2004, RIC produced a number of reports on technical issues relating to the condition and management of rail infrastructure. The reports cover all rail assets including tracks, signals, tunnels and other components of our network. RIC produces technical reports on these assets when performance data and asset monitoring highlight issues requiring further investigation.

Most technical reports are produced by RIC employees with in-depth knowledge of the assets and issues involved. However, to complement RIC's own skills and ensure the most accurate and up-to-date information, RIC may also commission independent auditors or specialists on a particular issue to provide impartial, expert technical advice.

Technical reports cover:

  • Safety of infrastructure.
  • Compliance with established standards and procedures for asset management.
  • Assurance of the technical integrity and capability of the assets over their life cycle.

RailCorp is committed to transparency and accountability in the management of its assets and the rail network. In line with this commitment, these past RIC Technical Reports are available on this website. Each report is accompanied by a non-technical summary, explaining the key issues and findings in plain language, as well as actions taken and progress to date.
