Other filmmakers and photographers
A number of RailCorp properties are available for use by professional filmmakers and photographers. Please note that in most cases, cost-recovery fees will apply.
We are unable to accommodate filming and photography during peak periods: 4.00am to 10.00am and 2.00pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday.
Film Friendly
Our stations have appeared in numerous film and television projects over the years including The Matrix and Superman Returns.
RailCorp is committed to the NSW Government’s Film Friendly Principles. We welcome enquiries from the film and television industry.
In consultation with Screen NSW, we have developed guidelines for filmmakers wanting to access our properties. These are designed to meet the needs of the film and television industry while ensuring the safety of our customers, staff and your crew.
Who to contact
- RailCorp's Special Events Unit provides a single point of contact for filmmakers and photographers.
- Screen NSW offers a liaison service for the film and television industry and state and local government agencies. The agency also provides expert advice on locations, policy, industry contacts and production matters.
Contact details are provided below.
Application timeframes
RailCorp must take into account our operational requirements as well as staff and customer safety when assessing applications for filming and photography.
Accordingly:
- Applications for use of stations and trains will generally take 10 business days to process
- Applications for exclusive use of a train will generally take eight weeks to process.
RailCorp appreciates the time pressures affecting the film industry. In some cases we may be able to process a filming application in less time than is shown above, however it may not be possible to accommodate your production given operational limitations.
