Design Engineer - Electrical

You will provide RailCorp with technical expertise relating to the relevant sub-discipline of electrical engineering. Design Engineers – Electrical produce electrical designs, including assisting with the production of complex multi discipline design projects, and provide best practice engineering advice and services to RailCorp and external clients in order to maximise the safety and reliability of relevant electrical systems infrastructure and assets throughout the asset lifecycle.

Major Projects Division

The Major Projects Division (MPD) sits within the Asset Management Group and project manages large rail infrastructure developments that support the NSW rail system. The team is heavily focussed on ‘delivery’ and strives to attract high achievers. With a number of major projects, MPD are looking to recruit experienced client facing project management and engineering professionals. We are looking to attract engineering/construction professionals not only from the rail industry but also from other construction and engineering backgrounds; you may currently be working for a contractor, consultant or another client organisation.

Project Manager 

RailCorp’s Project Managers are responsible for the delivery of complex major or minor projects. Plan, schedule, manage and coordinate major or minor projects of a single or multi disciplined nature, to ensure all project objectives and agreed specifications are achieved in accordance with project scope, the program, resource requirements, budgets, quality, safety standards and customer expectations.

Project Engineer

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering a single discipline project (i.e. civil, electrical, signals). Project Engineers plan, schedule, manage and coordinate minor projects, to ensure all project objectives and agreed specifications are achieved in accordance with project scope, established timeframes and resource requirements, estimates, budgets and quality and safety standards and customer expectations.

Estimators 

Prepare concept, feasibility and detailed estimating functions in relation to Major Projects Division’s Major Periodic Maintenance, capital and external projects to provide quality, consistent and financially responsible estimates.

Schedulers

Manage the facilitation and development of project and program schedules, budget and physical scope forecasting and ensure the deployment and accessibility of scheduling systems to Delivery Engineers.

Project Engineer – Renewals

Project Engineers – Renewals prepare detailed Project Plans for the works program delivery within a defined functional field and deliver the functional works program in accordance with the Project Plans to ensure project objectives are achieved and projects are delivered in accordance with agreed scope, timeframe, budget, quality and safety standards.

Deliver medium to large Signalling projects and/or contribute to larger, more complex Signalling projects in order to support the Program Manager to meet agreed scope, timeframe, budget, quality and safety standards.
