Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Graduate Program

The aim of RailCorp’s ICT Graduate Program is to provide future leaders for the organisation with experience and opportunities to develop in a range of ICT disciplines. You will play an integral role in the design and delivery of critical projects to meet key business, safety and legislative requirements.

Opportunities are available for Graduates who will hold degrees in an information technology discipline by the end of 2008.

RailCorp’s IT Graduate program has been an excellent experience for me. Its’ flexibility gave me the opportunity to experiment with and develop many different technical and people skills. I have worked on many exciting projects such as research and development of Service Oriented Architecture to gain technical knowledge and competency. How the ICT Graduate Program works

The aim of the program is to develop graduates’ capabilities both professionally and technically and to better equip them to fulfil RailCorp’s current and emerging needs through:

a customised three-year career development and training plan including technical and management skills; and
regular job rotation to maximise project participation and learning outcomes.

ICT graduates are employed on a temporary contract at a starting salary of $51,969.

Graduate qualities we seek

RailCorp is seeking Graduates who possess strong conceptual and analytical skills, well developed interpersonal and teamwork skills and have a passion for instilling change and continuous improvement.

What do you need to be eligible to apply?

To apply to join RailCorp’s graduate program applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

successful completion of a relevant degree prior to commencement of the program;
graduates with overseas qualifications must demonstrate that their degrees have been officially recognised by an Australian university or the Institution of Engineers Australia; and
all applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.

How many ICT Graduates will RailCorp take onto the program?

RailCorp is seeking approximately 5 graduates to join the ICT Graduate program.

When does the graduate program start?

The ICT Graduates will commence in January 2009.
