Free travel pass
All RailCorp employees receive an employee travel pass. This pass allows our people to travel free on the NSW public transport system including CityRail trains, State Transit buses, Sydney Ferries and CountryLink trains and coaches within NSW. The pass does not include travel on premium services including Jet Cats, light rail, special event buses and ferries and CountryLink sleepers.
Study opportunities and support
We provide comprehensive staff training through structured programs. The majority of training is conducted at RailCorp's Australian Rail Training College located at Petersham.
Many of our courses are accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), so that when you complete training you receive a formal nationally recognised certificate.
We provide study assistance to staff pursuing work related courses.
Work/life balance
- Annual leave - five weeks per year for shift workers. Four weeks per year for non-shift workers
- Sick leave - 15 days per year
- Maternity leave - 14 weeks paid leave
- Long service leave - two months after 10 years of service
- Flexible working hours - one accrued day off for every 19 working days (Award staff only)
Superannuation
We pay nine per cent of your wage into a complying superannuation fund. You can also nominate personal contributions to be deducted from your pay each fortnight.
Staff uniform
All frontline employees are provided with uniforms.
