RailCorp apprenticeship recruitment process
How do I apply and what is the selection process?
1. Apply online. View the Positions available page and follow the online application process as requested.
2. Phone interview. If you meet the selection criteria you will be contacted by phone, within two weeks applications closing, and asked a series of competency based questions to identify your suitability for the role.
3. Online testing. Should you progress from the telephone screening stage you will be emailed details requesting that you to complete a mechanical reasoning test online.
4. Information session and job related testing. Applicants who meet the required standard at the online testing will be invited to attend an information session in Sydney’s CBD. At this session you will be given specific details about the position and the recruitment and selection process. Further job related testing will also be conducted.
5. Assessment centre. If you successfully meet the required standard at the job related tests you will be invited to attend an assessment centre which will have group based and written activities.
6. Meet and greet. Applicants who progress from the Assessment Centre will be invited to participate in a Meet and Greet session. This is an opportunity for applicants to meet business representatives.
7. Offer. Pre-employment checks (criminal history, medical assessment - including drug and alcohol and reference checks) will be conducted and then offers made to successful candidates.
RailCorp is not expecting to advertise for a January 2011 Apprenticeship Program intake. Information on future intakes will be provided on this page.
