The Australian Railway Story Project is an ongoing research project that has the objective of bringing together the observations of poets and songwriters of Australian Railway life that has been made over the last 150 years.

The project aims to publish a book for September 2005 and with the assistance of The University of New England Heritage Group set up an online data bank of references that will encourage further research to collect this scattered material.

Documented items and details from all over Australia will be added to the Werris Creek Museum collection who in the future will display much of Australian Railway Cultural and Social History.
